Supporting Radically Transparent Impact in Armenia

Since 2012, our crowdfunding platform has powered impact-driven projects in Armenia and Artsakh by connecting them to donors from around the world, with radical transparency at the heart of it all. Our goal was, and still is the same: accelerate job creation, support cultural innovation, and raise the standard of living in rural Armenia.

Though we no longer crowdfund for local projects, our platform remains open to organizations we believe in and that share our core values of radical transparency, efficient operations, and measurable, sustainable impact. Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Organization vetting

After applying, we vet local organizations to ensure financial transparency and operational efficiency. We rank them based on various criteria including transparency, impact, and sustainability. Please note that we are no longer fundraising for projects. If your project is selected by 1A Open Source, you and your team will be responsible for the fundraising necessary to launch your project.

Step 2: Disbursement of funds

After funds are raised by the selected organization, we disperse them and require documentation of expenditures. We keep zero admin fees from projects.

Step 3: Follow up

During and after project completion, we require that organizations follow up with their donors, sharing content and information of all stages of the project implementation through email and social media.
